Dear David Stern..

Dear David Stern,

There is an individual that goes by the name of "Air Up There" that is the answer to your dunk contest woes.

2010 NBA Dunk Contest = EPIC FAIL!

Now during this weekend while many people are celebrating and spending quality time with their significant others, millions of men managed to sneak off for a couple of hours to watch the 2010 Dunk Contest. This year was packages as a year of high flyers and amazing dunkers. We had LA Laker Shannon Brown, who spent the 1st half of the season petitioning his candidacy by launching a website www.letshannondunk.com with clips of his high flying escapades throughout the season. There was Charlotte Bobcats forward Gerald Wallace, Toronto Raptors rookie DeMarr Derozan who won a "dunk-off" against LA Clipper sophomore Eric Gordon, and 2 time Champion NY Knick Nate "Pocket Rocket" Robinson. Now this had disappointment written all over it after King James rescinded his candidacy after announcing that he would be a participant during last year's dunk contest. This contest was full of guys who cold "jump out of the gym" but had very little or no creativity whatsoever. I'm starting to realize that as time has gone on, guys who are in the dunk contest FORGOT about the purpose of the dunk contest: to entertain the crowd, fellow NBA players, and the world with amazing feats of athleticism that could not be done within the confines of a regulation NBA game. Now a days just being able to catch an opp off the backboard. or jumping over another individual has long lost its luster. I can't wait to hear what Jim Rome has to say about this. My personal solution is to have a "Tournament of Champions" bring back guys like "Vinsanity", "J-Rich", "Superman", Kobe, Nate (to defend his title), and 2 superstar entries i.e. "King James" and another superstar of your choice and have them go at it. Bring the buzz and the excitement back! I miss the days of calling, a friend and the first thing outta my mouth is "DID YOU SEE THAT!!??"...but then again I'm just one fan, with his own opinion..

Case Study Coming Soon..

While I was on Twitter on of my favorite Tweeters Wale posted an article on HoneyMag.com here. The article discusses how he feels about the age old question of "Why Do Good Girls Like Bad Guys?". I'm so inspired by the article that I'm going to conduct a case study to find out the psychological answer to the question. So stay tuned..

Check out this new video by Wale entitles "My Sweetness". It's directed by fellow DC rapper Tabi Bonney. This is a very dope video that pays homage to Wale's Nigerian heritage.

More Haitians to Come Soon..

In light of the recent earthquake in Haiti, my people are still resilient, still fighting, and still grinding to put themselves in a better position to help not only themselves but their families.. Check out this clip of 4 Haitian American highschool athletes that have excelled on the football field to gain scholarships to division one football programs..

Much success to these guys, and I'll be looking out for them next season..

WHO DAT!!

"who dat? who dat? who dat said dey gon' beat dem Saints?!" is the chant that is being heard around the city of New Orleans.. I just want to congratulate the Superbowl Champion New Orleans over their victory over the Indianapolis Colts (and for helping me win $25.00 lol). The Saints won by the score of 31-17.

Once again congrats to them..

I'm Baaaack!

Now I'd like to apologize for the unannounced hiatus, but I've been a little busy with school and this whole employment thing. But I'm gonna try to make an effort to update the blog more often...

Well now that I'm back there are some things that I'd like to get off of my chest.. Starting with the Grammy's... Especially with the minimal representation of Rap/Hip-Hop.. What's up with that? What I saw was an attempt to turn the Grammy's to an "Unplugged" version of the American Music Awards or and alternative version of the VMA's.. Sure there were people who I figured who would be "standard" performers such as the Beyonce's, the Lady Gaga's (even though I don't understand her.. but that's a different post for a different time), the J-Hud's etc.. But some of the "Mash-Up" type of performances were outright weak.. Also the excessive bleeping during one of the best performances of the night from Eminem, Lil' Wayne & Drake when they performed the hit "Forever".. As Ed Lover would put it "C'mon Son!"

Also shoutout to Travis Barker doing his THANG on the drums during the performance..

I'm not a big Beyonce fan but I did enjoy her performance and her Alanis Morrissette segment was pretty dope and had me thinking about what a Beyonce rock album would sound like..
