Wise Words From Tyler Perry
I was scrolling through my Facebook page and came across this and it spoke volumes to me..
TRUE STORY!
TRUE STORY!
A few years ago I was getting these really insane water bills. I mean
HIGH! So I decided to dig some wells in my yard to have water for my
landscape. I live alone, so I know it had to be from watering the grass.
So I hired a company to come out and dig these wells. The foreman and I
walked all around my yard and as we were walking he was putting down
flags. I asked what the flags were for. He said, "The flags represent
good places to dig for water." I asked, "Why do you have so many flags?"
He said, "I'm not sure if any of these places will produce water." I
said, "Hold up, you mean if you dig all these spots and don't hit water I
still have to pay you?" He said, "Yes, that's how it goes." I said,
"Ok, fine." Needless to say, he dug three wells and never hit water. I
said, "Just stop."
I got a few more extreme water bills and
called him back. He said, "Are you sure?" I said, "Yes, keep drilling
until you hit water." The next well he dug he was down 500 feet and
still didn't hit any water. He asked if I wanted him to stop. I said,
"Go deeper." He dug down another 200 feet and still nothing. I said, "Go
deeper." He drilled another 200 feet and he hit rock. I said, "Blast
it, cut it, do whatever you have to do but keep digging." After fighting
the rock and breaking his drill and getting a new one we got a little
deeper. He said, "We are at 1,200 feet, why do you want me to keep
going?" I said, "Cause I'm tired of these water bills and I'm going to
do something about it." He said, "But this is really deep." I asked him
if he had hit water yet. He said "no," so I told him to go deeper. "But
you don't understand," he said. "We don't usually drill this deep, this
is going to be expensive." I told him that, "Sometimes you have to go
deeper to get what you are after, no matter what the cost." He started
the machine and went down another four inches and hit a river of water.
Just a few inches separated me from getting my breakthrough. That was
five years ago and that well has never run dry.
In 2013 I want
you to apply that to your life in all ways. Sometimes you will spend
time on a thing and it will produce no water. Don't be afraid to move on
to another spot. YOU CAN'T HAVE FEAR. I don't care how much time you
put into it. If the well is dry MOVE ON! Nothing lives where there is no
living water. Be it a relationship, a job, a business, don't be afraid
to move to another spot.
Now, on the other hand, if you are
digging your well and you are sure that it is not only where you want to
be but where God wants you to be, then keep digging in that same spot.
Don't stop digging until you hit a river of blessings. Don't stop
praying until you live in the change you've been waiting for. Don't stop
pushing until you deliver your breakthrough. Yes, it will get
difficult. Yes, you may hit rock. Yes, there will be a cost. But when
you get to what God is trying to get you to, YOU WILL RECOVER IT ALL!
One of my favorite scriptures says that. "PURSUE AND YOU SHALL RECOVER
IT ALL!"
Some people give up when they are only inches away!!

Even Store Displays Bench Tebow
As big of a sports fan that I am.. I am not the biggest fan as Tim Tebow as a QB.. However I do feel as though he is a great athlete. He spent the majority of the season on the Jets bench much to the dismay of analysts like Skip Bayless. But now, his benching has reached its apex with being benched in store displays.

Happy Independence Day!!
Now I know what you're thinking.. I know it's not July 4th. It's January 1st.. But as a proud Haitian, I'm celebrating the Independence of my people, who gained their freedom from the tyranny of the French in 1804. On this day 209 years ago Haiti became the FIRST free BLACK country!
Also in commemoration of such a momentous occasion I've been blasting this song all day..

Mark Cuban Humbles Skip Bayless
I am a big sports fan and a fan of ESPN's First Take show, but I tend to disagree with one of their hosts Skip Bayless. Although he is an accomplished sports writer and editor with accolades to his credit, I feel as though the analyst that we see on the air is just a character. Just after the Miami Heat won the 2012 NBA championship Dallas Mavericks owner accepted an invitation to come one the show and debate Skip and eloquently humbles him.

20 Things I Should Have Known at 20
1. The world is trying to keep you stupid. From bank fees to interest rates to miracle diets, people who are not educated are easier to get money from and easier to lead. Educate yourself as much as possible for wealth, independence, and happiness.
2. Do not have faith in institutions to educate you. By the time they build the curriculum, it’s likely that the system is outdated– sometimes utterly broken. You both learn and get respect from people worth getting it from by leading and doing, not by following.
3. Read as much as you can. Learn to speed read with high retention. Emerson Spartz taught me this while I was at a Summit Series event. If he reads 2-3 books a week, you can read one.
4. Connect with everyone, all the time. Be genuine about it. Learn to find something you like in each person, and then speak to that thing.
5. Don’t waste time being shy. Shyness is the belief that your emotions should be the arbitrators of your decision making process when the opposite is actually true.
6. If you feel weird about something during a relationship, that’s usually what you end up breaking up over.
7. Have as much contact as possible with older people. Personally, I met people at Podcamps. My friend Greg,
at the age of 13, met his first future employer sitting next to him on a
plane. The reason this is so valuable is because people your age don’t
usually have the decision-making ability to help you very much. Also
they know almost everything you will learn later, so ask them.
8. Find people that are cooler than you
and hang out with them too. This and the corollary are both important:
“don’t attempt to be average inside your group. Continuously attempt to
be cooler than them (by doing cooler things, being more laid back,
accepting, ambitious, etc.).”
9. You will become more conservative over time.
This is just a fact. Those you surround yourself with create a kind of
“bubble” that pushes you to support the status quo. For this reason, you
need to do your craziest stuff NOW. Later on, you’ll become too afraid.
Trust me.
10. Reduce all expenses as much as possible. I mean it. This creates a safety net that will allow you to do the crazier shit I mentioned above.
11. Instead of getting status through objects (which provide only temporary boosts), do it through experiences. In other words, a trip to Paris is a better choice than a new wardrobe. Studies show this also boosts happiness.
12. While you are living on the cheap, solve the money problem.
Use the internet, because it’s like a cool little machine that helps
you do your bidding. If you are currently living paycheck to paycheck,
extend that to three weeks instead of two. Then, as you get better, you
can think a month ahead, then three months, then six, and finally a year
ahead. (The goal is to get to a point where you are thinking 5 years
ahead.)
13. Learn to program.
14. Get a six-pack (or get thin, whatever your goal is) while you are young. Your hormones are in a better place to help you do this at a younger age. Don’t waste this opportunity, trust me.
15. Learn to cook.
This will make everything much easier and it turns food from a chore +
expensive habit into a pleasant + frugal one. I’m a big Jamie Oliver
fan, but whatever you like is fine.
16. Sleep well. This
and cooking will help with the six pack. If you think “I can sleep when
I’m dead” or “I have too much to do to sleep,” I have news for you: you
are INEFFICIENT, and sleep deprivation isn’t helping.
17. Get a reminder app for everything. Do not trust your own brain for your memory. Do not trust it for what you “feel like” you should be doing. Trust only the reminder app. I use RE.minder and Action Method.
18. Choose something huge to do, as well as allowing the waves of opportunity to help you along. If you don’t set goals, some stuff may happen, but if you do choose, lots more will.
19. Get known for one thing.
Spend like 5 years doing it instead of flopping around all over the
place. If you want to shift afterwards, go ahead. Like I said, choose
something.
20. Don’t try to “fix” anyone. Instead, look for someone who isn’t broken.
